FRITCH-On Friday afternoon, the Dalhart Lady Wolves built a big lead early in their 17-3 win over the Sanford-Fritch Lady Eagles in non-district softball action.
The Lady Wolves wasted little time getting on the scoreboard by bringing in five runs in the top of the first inning.
The Lady Eagles responded in the bottom of the first inning by scoring a run on a passed ball at home plate.
But five walks and two errors helped the Lady Wolves score five more runs in the second inning to take a 1-10 lead.
On Saturday, March 17th the Johnson Park Youth Center will be hosting the R&M Vinyard Inc. Disc Golf Tournament.
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with the tournament beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The tournament will consist of two rounds of 20 holes, with the second round expected to begin around 2:00 p.m.
The tournament will have three divisions, including an open division ($35), advanced division ($25), and Recreational division ($15.)
Cash payout prizes will be given in all divisions. Robert and Martha Vinyard have donated money toward the cash prizes in the tournament.
On Thursday, the Borger High School Tennis team came in second place in the Dumas Tournament.
Taking second place in their divisions were Cassandra Fonseca and Lindsey Murley in Girls Doubles and Ariel Sanders in Girls Singles. Rebecca Benz won the consolation round in Girls Singles defeating a player from Amarillo High.
Abbie Madden and Alix Whitworth finished in third place in Mixed Doubles.
Other team members who performed well in the tournament include Daniel Salinas, Sterling Shelton, and Austin Embers.
