Hereford Whitefaces gets past the Borger Bulldogs, 11-2

March 1, 2012

In the first week of the season, the areas of concern for the Borger Bulldogs were errors and giving up too many walks. On Wednesday evening the Bulldogs did a better job in both areas, but the team struggled offensively in their 11-2 loss to the Hereford Whitefaces out at Huber Park.
The Whiteface pitching staff did a good job working the plate limiting the Bulldogs to three hits while striking out 10 batters in the game.
In the top of the second inning, the Whitefaces took a 0-5 lead on a RBI single, a three RBI triple, and a passed ball at home plate.

The Sanford-Fritch Eagles baseball team enters 2012 expecting to have a good season and to compete for a playoff berth in District 1-2A.
In 2011, the Eagles faced several difficult issues on and off the baseball field which took its toll in the win-loss column.
Since last season, the Eagles baseball program is experiencing a fresh start under the leadership of new head coach Adam Watson.
Watson has the luxury of seven lettermen returning from last season, led by Tate Murray, Caleb Manzella, Christian Ward, and Jarred Goodwin.

The Bulldogs dropped a heartbreaker in overtime 42-35. See weekend sports for full results.
