The Borger Lady Bulldogs didnâ€™t have long to celebrate their 3A Bi-District playoff round win over Lamesa on Tuesday. The team has to swing back around and travel to Seminole tonight to take on the Clint Lady Lions in the 3A Area playoff round.
Borger Interim Head Coach Ken Barbour was pleased with the teamâ€™s performance, saying, â€śLamesa has a style that can get a team out of sync. However, our defense adapted easily and allowed our offense to put the ball on the floor for many impressive kills.â€ť
The Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen opened the 2011-12 season on a high note by defeating Trinidad State College 75-55 in Trinidad, Colo.
In the second half, Trinidad St. was able to pull within six with ten minutes to go, but a 9-0 run gave the Lady Plainsmen the separation the team needed to get the 20 point win.
Laura Martinez had a big night off the bench scoring 18 points.

On Saturday, November 5th, Meet the Bulldogs will be held for the Borger Lady Bulldog Basketball team starting at noon in Tex Hanna Gym.
The team will also take part in a scrimmage beginning at around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Free hot dogs will be served to fans, so come out and show your support for the Lady Bulldogs.
AMARILLO-No offense to the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes, but on Tuesday evening the Borger Lady Bulldogs made getting the win in the 3A Bi-District playoff round look easy in three games, 25-12, 25-16, 25-20, at Amarillo High School.
In each of the games, Lamesa was able to keep the score close early on. However, the Lady Bulldogs proved to be too strong at the net and were able to pull away in each game.
Tonight, the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen basketball team will tip off the 2011-12 season in Colorado taking on Trinidad State College.
The Lady Plainsmen are coming off a tough 4-25 campaign last season, but there is a lot of optimism entering this year, thanks to six returning players and some new size to the team.
On Friday night, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen open the 2011-12 basketball season hosting Lubbock Christian JV at 7:00 p.m. at the BCAC.

The Lady Bulldogs find themselves in a similar situation as last year, by entering the playoffs as the districtâ€™s third seed, yet able to make a nice run that ended in the Regional Semi-Finals.
After being picked to finish last in the WJCAC at the start of the season, the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen proved the experts on wrong by qualifying for the West Region V Tournament without the use of any tiebreaker with a four game win over Clarendon College on Saturday afternoon 22-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-14.
The West Region V Tournament will take place on Saturday, featuring the Lady Plainsmen opening against Midland College, while NMMI will take on Western Texas College in the other semi-final.
The past two years, the Borger Boys Cross Country team seem to fall just short of beating Perryton in various meets in the season but came up with the win when it counted the most.
That was the case again on Friday, as the Borger Bulldog Varisty Boys Cross Country team won itâ€™s third consecutive District 1-3A title edging out the Perryton Rangers by one point. It was Borgerâ€™s first victory over Perryton this season. Borger placed itâ€™s top five runners in the top ten in order to win the title.
