On Saturday afternoon, the Borger Lady Bulldogs fell to the Dalhart Lady Golden Wolves in four games 25-12, 23-25, 25-15, 25-21.
The loss drops the Lady Bulldogs to 1-7 in District 1-3A play where they sit tied with Perryton for the third playoff spot.
Perryton travels to Borger tomorrow night in a big regular season finale where the winner advances to the playoffs.
The junior varsity teams will play at 5:00 p.m. followed by the varsity match getting underway at approximately 6:00 p.m. at Tex Hanna Gym.
PAMPA-On Friday evening, District 1-3A play finally got underway with the Borger Bulldogs traveling to take on the Pampa Harvesters for the next chapter of the Texas Panhandleâ€™s best rivalry.
Both teams came in with identical 3-4 record, but throughout the night the Bulldogs proved they were the better team by putting together a dominating performance on both sides of the ball in their 31-6 win.
The Sanford-Fritch Eagles traveled 141 mies south Friday night, looking to secure first place in District 1-2A with a win over the Abernathy Antelopes.
The Lopes had a different plan and their quick and strong Abernathy team wore down the Eagles.
In the first quarter, Sanford-Fritch punted the ball and some great defense were able to force Abernathy to do nothing offensively and punt.
Friday marks the next chapter in the great rivalry featuring the Borger Bulldogs and the Pampa Harvesters coming in with identical 3-4 records for the District 1-3A opener.
The Bulldogs enter the game coming off an impressive 32-20 win over the top ranked 3A team in Colorado, Vista Ridge.
The Bulldogsâ€™ defense had a big night in shutting down a talented Wolvesâ€™ offense most of the night by providing good pressure up front combined with solid play in the secondary.

So far through district play, both the Eagles and Antelopes have been able to flex their muscles as the best two teams in the district by holding undefeated district records.
On Friday night. the West Texas High Comanches will play in their final home game for the 2011 season when they host the undefeated Sunray Bobcats in a key District 1-1A battle.
Last Friday evening, the Comanches suffered just their second loss of the season when they fell 48-14 to the Canadian Wildcats.
The Comanchesâ€™ offense continued to move the ball on the ground, racking up over 230 rushing yards. But, the Comanchesâ€™ defense just could not find an answer on how to slow down the Wildcatsâ€™ spread attack, which racked up 533 yards of total offense and built up a big lead by halftime.

Wednesday evening in the BCAC, the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) Lady Broncos defeated the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen in straight sets 19-25, 27-29, 22-25 in WJCAC play.
The win was a clean sweep for NMMI, however each game in the match featured great plays from both teams, leading fans to understand why the two clubs had split their previous two meetings this season.
On Saturday, October 22nd, Frank Phillips College will host â€śMeet the Plainsmenâ€ť for the menâ€™s basketball team starting at 4:30 p.m. at the BCAC.
The menâ€™s basketball team will be there to meet and talk with Plainsmen fans and take part in a inter-squad scrimmage.
Entering the season, the Plainsmen have 15 players on their active roster featuring a good blend of athletic ability and decent size.
The Plainsmen will also visit Gateway Elementary on Friday morning to eat lunch and hang out with students along with handing out pencils and flyers for â€śMeet the Plainsmen.â€ť
PAMPA-On Tuesday evening, the Borger Lady Bulldogs came out strong taking game one in their match against the #14 Pampa Lady Harvesters.
But an upset was not in the cards for the Lady Bulldogs as the Lady Harvesters got the breaks down the stretch to get the win in four games 25-21,17-25, 19-25, 15-25 to stay undefeated in District 1-3A play.
The Lady Bulldogs drop to 1-6 in district play and have two matches left to try secure one of the three districtâ€™s playoff spots.
