DUMAS-On Friday night, the Borger Bulldogs were able to rack up 120 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter against the Dumas Demons. Unfortunately, offensive struggles in the first three quarters proved to be too much for Borger to over come, as the Demons were able to hang on for a 20-12 win over the Bulldogs.
The West Texas Comanches were celebrating 25 years of fielding a football team at their Homecoming game vs the Spearman Lynx last night. WT High celebrated by sporting the jerseys of the two teams from the schools that make up the District now, Stinnett Rattlers in the first half, and the Phillips Blackhawks in the second half, while the cheerleaders wore Plemons Indians outfits. All three represent the schools that no longer exist since combining to make WT High.
On Friday evening, the Canadian Wildcats drove into a town filled with Black & Blue ribbon celebrating it’s homecoming. Those same Wildcats came ready to play some football, despite the festivities. Eagles fought hard but without some key players, found a well- disciplined opponent.
The first half was all Wildcats. They moved their offense and scored rather quickly to take an early 18-0 lead before a packed stadium.
Turnovers plagued the Eagles all night, and gave the Wildcats great field position.
