Pool wins state track title

May 16, 2011

On Friday, senior J’Cee Pool became the first Borger High School Lady Bulldog to ever win a championship at the state track and field meet, a feat longtime Borger Track Coach Jeep Webb confirmed shortly after Pool won the 3A Girls Discus with a throw of 140-00. On her thoughts of Pool winning the state title, Borger Head Girls Track Coach Leslie Young recalled, ”We knew going to Austin that J’cee could medal, she just had to compete and that’s exactly what she did. She didn’t go out and win it on her first throw, she didn’t take the lead until the first throw of the finals.
