The 1-3A District champion Borger Bulldogs will take on the Pecos Eagles this Friday and Saturday in a best-of-three series in the 3A Area Round.
Pecos reached the Area Round this past weekend by winning two games on Saturday to win the Bi-district series over Seminole two games to one.
Game one of the Borger-Pecos series will begin at 7:00 p.m. at Lubbock Cooper High School.
Game two will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Lubbock Cooper, with game three to follow if necessary.
At the 1A State Golf Tournament in Austin, West Texas High sophomore Nathan Forrest shot a 79 to find himself sitting tied for seventh place after the first round of play on Monday.
Logan Philly of Robert Lee sat on top of the leaderboard with a 70, followed by his teammate Haden Dillard in second place with a 73.
Forrest is tied with Garrett Betts of Quanah in seventh place.
The final round of the 1A State Golf Tournament took place today at Roy Kizer Golf Course in Austin.

Through the 1-3A District and 3A Region I Tennis Tournaments, the Borger Mixed Doubles team of senior Josh Madden and junior Abbie Madden has cruised through the brackets, only losing one set on the way.
With such a good streak, there were hopes for the brother and sister duo to make a good showing at the 3A State Tennis Tournament, but the showing they made on Monday was nothing short of being very impressive in dominating their competition.
