As part of the April celebration of National Autism Awareness Month, the Frank Phillips College Athletic Department and the Plainsmen Baseball team will do their part in helping to raise awareness and funds for the Autism Society organization on Saturday, April 16th.
During game one of the April 16th Plainsmen doubleheader with Midland College, members of the Frank Phillips College Cheerleading team will be selling refreshments and t-shirts, donated by Rex Young Allstate Insurance and Powerhouse Printing.
Many hours of hard work, planning and accumulating of resources have taken place since local resident Michael Mittelstet approached the Borger City Council with a plan of creating a Disc Course here in Borger.
With the blessing and backing of city officials over the last couple of years, Mittlestet, along with family and friends, local business and several employees within the City of Borger, have created one of the best disc golf courses in West Texas that draws players from miles away to come test their skills on the challenging course.
Friday afternoon the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen made the short trip to Clarendon to take on the Clarendon College Bulldogs for the first two games of the four game WJCAC weekend series.
Unfortunately for the Plainsmen, Fridayâ€™s games went to the Bulldogs as they took both games 11-10 and 19-9.
The Plainsmen return to Borger to take on Midland College this coming Friday and Saturday in two doubleheaders that begin at noon on both days.
