Since Thursday, the Borger Lady Bulldogs and the West Texas High Comanches and Lady Comanches basketball teams have been hitting the hardwood as part of the Amarillo Highland Park Tournament.
Play on Thursday proved to be a little rough for both the Lady Bulldogs and Lady Comanches, with the Lady Bulldogs falling to Amarillo San Jacinto 45-24 and the Lady Comanches losing to Lazbuddie 39-36.
The Comanches got off to a good start in the tournament defeating Channing 55-27.
On Friday night, the Canyon Eagles took advantage of a sluggish start and 32 turnovers by the Borger Bulldogs to leave Tex Hanna Gym with a 64-43 win.
The Bulldogs only connected on 5 of 17 shots in the first half, while the Eagles nailed four three pointers and 11 of 15 free throws to build a 21 point lead by halftime.
The Bulldogs started the game playing solid defense which kept the Eagles off the scoreboard for the first four minutes.
