On Tuesday evening, the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen traveled to the Abilene area and came away with a 76-74 win over Ranger College.
After a sluggish start, the Lady Plainsmen ended the first half by going on a 7-2 run to make it a 37-33 score in favor of Ranger at halftime.
In the second half, the Lady Plainsmen came out strong and built an eight point lead.
However, Ranger battled back and cut the deficit to one point, 71-70 with 1:17 left.
Fortunately, the Lady Plainsmen were able to hold on to the lead in the final minute for the win.
Tomorrow night, the Borger Bulldogs will open up the 2011-12 basketball season hosting the Canyon Eagles starting at 6:00 p.m. in Tex Hanna Gym.
For the first time in over a decade, the Bulldogs are adjusting to a new head coach in Chet Byerly, who was hired to lead the program back in April.
