Tomorrow night, the Borger Lady Bulldogs will take on the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes in the 3A Bi-District playoffs at Amarillo High starting at 7:00 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs find themselves in a similar situation as last year, by entering the playoffs as the district’s third seed, yet able to make a nice run that ended in the Regional Semi-Finals.
After being picked to finish last in the WJCAC at the start of the season, the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen proved the experts on wrong by qualifying for the West Region V Tournament without the use of any tiebreaker with a four game win over Clarendon College on Saturday afternoon 22-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-14.
The West Region V Tournament will take place on Saturday, featuring the Lady Plainsmen opening against Midland College, while NMMI will take on Western Texas College in the other semi-final.
The past two years, the Borger Boys Cross Country team seem to fall just short of beating Perryton in various meets in the season but came up with the win when it counted the most.
That was the case again on Friday, as the Borger Bulldog Varisty Boys Cross Country team won it’s third consecutive District 1-3A title edging out the Perryton Rangers by one point. It was Borger’s first victory over Perryton this season. Borger placed it’s top five runners in the top ten in order to win the title.

The Bulldogs looked impressive last week in their 31-6 win over the Pampa Harvesters.
Tomorrow night the Sanford-Fritch Eagles will host the Spearman Lynx in their regular season finale in Fritch.
The game will be a key battle in determining playoff seeding as the two teams enter the game battling for second place with both suffering just one district loss from the hands of Abernathy.
Last Friday evening, Abernathy gave the Eagles their first district loss over the past two seasons by scoring 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to get the 28-13 win.
