October 13, 2011

After playing their first four WJCAC matches on the road, the Lady Plainsmen finally got to enjoy the luxury of the home crowd in their conference showing down with the Clarendon College Lady Bulldogs.
Going into Wednesday night, the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen had yet to drop a match at home in the BCAC for the season.
Both FPC and Clarendon College entered the contest with identical 1-3 conference records.

Bulldogs host top ranked Colorado team for homecoming

October 13, 2011

One thing Borger Bulldog fans cannot deny is Borger Head Coach Rusty Purser knows how to put together a monster of a non-district schedule.
After playing two of the top 4A teams in West Texas in Canyon Randall and Amarillo Caprock, good teams in Bushland and Dumas, along with a game with perennial top 15 team in Class 3A in Monahans, the Bulldogs will finish non-district play by taking on the top ranked 3A team in the state of Colorado, the Vista Ridge Wolves.

Comanches travel to Canadian for district showdown

October 13, 2011

Over the past ten years, Canadian has been one of the toughest places in the state to get a win and a place that has been unkind to the West Texas High Comanches.
There is no question winning in Canadian is still going to be tough, but there is a feeling in Stinnett that the Comanches are good enough this season to go into the Eastern Texas Panhandle and come away with a big win over the Canadian Wildcats, putting themselves in one of the driver’s seats for one of the three District 1-1A Division I playoff spots and potentially a district title.

Eagles look to stay perfect in district play against Dimmitt

October 13, 2011

On Friday night, the Sanford-Fritch Eagles will attempt to take their season record to 4-4 and their District 1-2A Division II mark to 4-0 when they host the Dimmitt Bobcats.
Through district play, the Eagles have had no difficulty finding the end zone, averaging 38 points over the past three games while only allowing 15 points a game over the same stretch.
In last week’s win over Amarillo Highland Park, the Eagles defense dominated the Hornets offense by causing three turnovers and limiting the Hornets to 150 yards of total offense.

The Bulldogs dropped a heartbreaker in overtime 42-35. See weekend sports for full results.
