Over the past two years, there is no question that the West Texas High Lady Comanches can be called “The Queens of the Court” in Class 1A volleyball in the Texas Panhandle.
Last night, the Lady Comanches extended their District 5-1A winning streak to 14 matches by defeating Ft. Elliott on the road in straight sets, 25-12, 25-6, 25-12.
The way Tuesday night’s match started between the Dalhart Lady Wolves and the Borger Lady Bulldogs, fans on both sides of Tex Hanna Gym probably felt like the match was going to be a quick one due to Dalhart jumping out to a fast two games to none lead.
But the Lady Bulldogs found a way to regroup and fight back to take the third and fourth games to force a deciding game five.
On Saturday, the Borger Bulldogs boys golf team traveled to Canyon to play in the Randall Triangular. Borger was paired with Randall and Amarillo Palo Duro high. The bulldogs placed first in there tri meet with a team total of 315.
Borger scores were: Dylan Coffer 75, Billy Haynes 77, Kaylor Chatwell 78, Tyler Sosebee 85, Devontae Landers 87
Borger Boys Golf Coach Clinton Grange said, “The course played tough this weekend but despite the wet and cool conditions the boys stepped up and posted some really great scores.”
