Edward Hubert Canter, 74, died Thursday, June 30, 2011, in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 4, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahâ€™s Witnesses. Cremation was under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Canter was born on Oct, 3, 1936, in Troy, Mo. He worked for several construction companies and was a security guard for different companies. He was an Ice Cream man from 1996 to 2000, and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovahâ€™s Witnesses.
He married Margaret Ann Jefferson on Feb. 14, 1965.
J.P (Junro) Johnston of Borger passed away on June 29, 2011. Services will be at 3:00PM, Friday, July 1, 2011 at Brown Chapel Of The Fountains in Borger, TX.
J.P. was born July 31, 1917, in Sharon, OK. The second of seven children born to Grover P. Johnston and Lillie Barnes Johnston, J.P. was the last surviving member of that family. Deceased siblings were Charles Johnston, Claralee Johnston, Elton Ray Johnston, Jack Johnston, James Johnston, Bessie Lou Dugan, and half-brother Casey Garrett.

PANHANDLE - Nelda O. Webb, 76, a former resident of Panhandle, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Panhandle with Rev. Buddy Payne, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
STINNETT - Alvin R. â€śLightningâ€ť McBroom, 77, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, in Stinnett.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stinnett Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, Pastor of Riverview Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Sharon Yvette Smith Tidwell, 69, was born in Hollis, OK, on April 7, 1942, and began her journey to heaven on Monday, June 27, 2011.
She has joined her loving husband, Jerry Tidwell of 52 years in Heaven to Rest In Peace.
Sharon was a generous & caring person who had a special place for everyone in her heart. She will be greatly missed & will remain in our hearts forever.

Joshua Adam Gatlin, 21, of Ponder, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011. He was born Aug. 1, 1989, in Denton, TX. He graduated from Ponder High School in 2006 and Lincoln Tech in 2007. He was employed by Morrison Milling in Denton.
Capt. Douglas M. Smith, 86, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in Amarillo.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Panhandle, where Mr. Smith was a Deacon Emeritus. Rev. Bill Austin will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Douglas was born July 15, 1924, to Blanch Ems Smith and Dwight Moody Smith on the Ems farm outside of Lubbock.
Billie Jo Kelley
Billie Jo was born to Litchford and Cora Sparks on April 5, 1928, in Spearman, Texas. She left this earth May 28, 2011, to be reunited with her husband, parents, brothers and sisters. She was a fabulous bridge player, loved dominoes and playing the piano, and enjoyed a good laugh. She had a feisty, loving spirit and was adored by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles, a longtime local grocer; parents, brothers, Aubie, James, Roscoe, and W.E. Sparks; and sisters, Opal Boxford, Owassa Valdez, and Shirley Talley.
