Annelle Shipp Smith of Texas City, TX, formerly of Fritch, TX, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. She was born in Newport, TX on July 20, 1913 to Lula and O.M. Shipp.
Kenton J. Savage, 65, of Borger passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Borger Healthcare Center. He was born Monday, March 4, 1946 in Chickasha, OK to Orvil James and Helen Oaks Savage.
Kenton moved to Stinnett, TX in 1956. He graduated from Stinnett High School and enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country.
Funeral services for Mabel Louise Gunter, 88, formerly of Borger, will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Gateway Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Rawlinson, Pastor officiating.Â
Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Louise was born July 6, 1923 in Burkburnett, TX, to Forrest and Angie Glidewell.Â She had been a resident of Phillips and Borger for the past 75 years.Â She married J. C. Gunter April 1, 1944 in Phillips, TX. He preceded her in death in 2004.Â She was a member of Gateway Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Zelma Mae Wood, 82, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Kyle Holley of Amarillo officiating.Â
Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mrs. Wood was born in Cordell, Okla., July 1, 1929, to Albert and Flora Bell Harbin.Â She married William Benson Wood April 29, 1944, in Spearman, TX. He preceded her in death in February of 2003.Â Zelma had lived in Skellytown for 50 years prior to moving to Borger three years ago.Â She loved to play with her grandkids.
Wallace â€śWallyâ€ť Criswell, 62, of Baytown, TX was born November 22, 1948 in Fort Worth and passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 after a brief battle against cancer. He was a U. S. Army veteran.
He enjoyed fishing and was an artist, specializing in acrylic paintings. He had numerous showings, especially in the Borger area.
Jo Lynn Groves, age 57, of Hockley, Texas died on Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Cypress, Texas after a lengthy illness.
Royce E. Beasley, 78, passed away at 5:04 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at Freeman West in Joplin, MO.
Royce was born on April 14, 1933, in Strawn, TX. He was the son of Roy Calhoun and Grace Lougenia â€śCoxâ€ť Beasley . Royce was employed by the Big 3 Industries where he started as a salesman and retired as a manager after 32 years. He served in the Army. Royce was a member of the Carthage Church of Christ.
Royce was united in marriage to Patricia Fullerton on June 4, 1955 in Carthage, MO. She survives.
Lucindy Kay â€śLindyâ€ť Lee, 60, of Sanford, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2011 at First Baptist Church at Sanford.
Lindy was born on January 27, 1951 in Shamrock, TX to Curtis and Josie Lemons. She loved Gospel music and her kids.
Louise Sanders, 77, of Stinnett, passed away, Sunday, August 21, 2011.
Mayme Louise (Yake) Sanders was born Wednesday, April 25, 1934 in Borger, TX to Henry and Mary Rosaltha (Laster) Yake. She married Jerry Sanders on January 4, 1963 in Stinnett, TX. She was a Food Service Director for PSPCISD.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bill Yake and Bud Yake; and a brother-in-law, Tommy Lewis.
R.L. Baker, 81, died August 22, 2011, in Borger.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Sizemore officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastlawn Garden at Highland Park Cemetery, under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
