C.E. â€śEdâ€ť Cole, 85, of Borger, passed away, Tuesday, March 28, 2012.
Clinie Edward Cole was born Saturday, September 25, 1926 in Tahlequah, OK to Orlando and Henrietta (Cupp) Cole. He was a supervisor and plant manager at Phillips Philblack plant. Mr. Cole also volunteered at Golden Plains Community Hospital for twenty years and was a volunteer for HutchCares. Ed Cole married Dortha Faye Morrison on April 1, 1963 at First Baptist Church in Borger, TX. Mr. Cole served his country in WWII and Korea as a member of the United States Army where he received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star.
Mary Joan Moss, 73, of Amarillo, passed away, Tuesday, March 27, 2012.
Mary Joan (Yeary) Moss was born Sunday, January 22, 1939 in Kingston, OK to Charles and Jane (Eddings) Yeary. She was a homemaker. Mary Joan married William â€śBillâ€ť Moss on August 13, 1954 in Madill, OK.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William â€śBillâ€ť Moss; and two daughters, Mona Moss and Shannon Newman.
Doris Jeanne Bell, 83, of Mount Pleasant, Texas died Saturday March 24th in Mount Pleasant. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday, March 30th at Westlawn Cemetery with Mr. Richard Kasko of Fritch Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in the garden of Love at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Charles "Bryan" Tracy, 45, died Sunday, March 25, 2012, in Borger.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Grace Fellowship Church with Pastor Les Sharp of Faith Covenant Church officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
PAMPA â€“ Eli Samuel Stark, 39, died March 26, 2012, in Wheeler County, Texas.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Briarwood Church, with Rev. Charles Lowry, pastor of CrossPointe Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Margaret Shores, 94, of Fritch, passed away, Thursday, March 22, 2012.
Margaret Ann (Allen) Shores was born Saturday, February 2, 1918 in Mena, AR to William and Nellie (Perry) Allen. She married C.K. Shores on September 15, 1940 in Clovis, NM. She was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church in Fritch, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.K. Shores in 1997; her brother, Kenneth Allen and her sister, Clio Smith.
Gloria â€śJaniceâ€ť Newman, 70, of Borger, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, in Amarillo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March, 24, 2012 at the Church of Christ at Borger with Mr. Denny Snead, Pastor officiating, and Pastor Terry Stegall of Newlife church in Dalhart assisting. Interment will follow in the Garden of Hope at Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors. Services are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
LIBERAL, KS â€“ Roxanne Redman, 66, Liberal, KS, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita, KS.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Miller Chapel with Rev. Rex Petty presiding. Interment will be in the Liberal Cemetery.
Borger â€“ Carolyn Marie Finchum, 65, died Tuesday, March 20 in Brownfield, Texas.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24 at Westlawn Memorial Park with Jake Minton and Sharmain Westmoreland officiating.
Interment is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Carolyn was born in San Diego, CA and lived 20 years in Borger before moving to Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her mother Jennie Gammill, her step-father Francis Davis Gammill and her father O. C. Finchum, Jr.
Dr. Frank Brown, 91, of Borger, passed away March 19, 2012.
Dr. Frank Foster Brown was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Mineral Wells, TX, to Alma Hitt and Ethel Mae (Yow) Brown. He married Mary Faith Oakes in Borger, TX, on Feb. 9, 1969.
Dr. Brown served in the Air Force May 1942. He was honorably discharged shortly after the war was over. He flew as a right waist gunner for 30 missions over France. He went to school in Chicago and became an optometrist and worked in Borger and Spearman from 1950 until June 1996.
He loved Sugar his beloved dog and Callie the marvelous calico cat.
