Bernice Opal Young Nicholson was born in Indiahoma, OK on August 16, 1918 and lived in Borger, Texas for many years. Opal has resided in Cedar Hill, Texas for the last 4 years. She went to heaven on August 6, 2011 and was 92 years of age.
August 10th
Greeley, CO - Cory Dean Smith, 39, went Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, to be with his Lord and dad in heaven.
 Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at Riverview Baptist Church with Preacher Jimmy Gillmore officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Love at Westlawn Memorial Park.   Arrangements are under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Joe Pat Hart was born Jan. 14, 1924, in Doole, TX, to Pat and Bertha Hart. He went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, TX at the age of 87 years.
He served with the Army Air Force during WWII. Joe married Lois Vrubel Aug. 20, 1974, in Clovis, N.M. He worked as a farmer before being hired by the Texas Employment Commission where he worked for 27 years until his retirement in 1980.

Betty R. Davis, 78, formerly a resident of Borger, TX, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Little Rock, Ark.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Westlawn Memorial Park. Interment will be beside her husband Dennis Devoe Davis under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Johnny Leon Laster, 52, of Shawnee, Okla., died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at St. Anthony Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. Memorial donations can be made to the Sharon Baptist Church Building Fund.

Tomas Rodriguez, 18, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Lake McKenzie in Briscoe County, Texas.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at First Baptist Church with Guillermo Barraza of Tabernaculo De Fe officiating. Interment will be in Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Tomas was born on May 11, 1993, in Galveston and had been a Borger resident for eight years. He was going to be a senior at Borger High School where he played football, soccer and tennis. He loved life and worked in produce at United.
Daisha Kae Bell Jackson, 31, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011, in Amarillo.
The family will be having a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011, at the Word Of Life Church. Cremation is under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Daisha was born March 3, 1980, to Danny Ray Bell and Klonda Kae Tabor Bell. On Aug. 28, 2007, she married Timothy Jackson. She was a waitress at Jones Griddle Barn. Daisha loved life, family, friends, traveling and seeing places. Anything to go for a ride.

Joycelyn (Cook) Glenn, 67, died at her home in Bixby, Okla.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at Moore Funeral Home, 9350 East 51st, Tulsa, Okla. (918) 663-2233.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Okla.
Joycelyn was originally from Phillips and a member of the Class of 1962.
Kenneth Paul McDonald Sr., 75, of Borger, died Monday Aug. 1, 2011, in Borger.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Dale Peirce, Pastor, and Rev. Jimmy Gillmore of Riverview Baptist officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
