Karen Sue Norman Davis

Karen Sue Norman Davis went to meet her maker on January 13, 2015.
She was born on April 26, 1950 in Borger, Texas to parents Gerald and Betty Norman.
At 19 months of age, she contracted polio and was left paralyzed from the waist down. After wearing leg braces and numerous surgeries, she was able to walk with just the aid of crutches. She never let the polio slow her down and was always able to do the things that she really wanted to do:  including holding down numerous jobs to support her family. She was as determined as they came.

Millton Florine Svetlik

Millton Florine Svetlik born Houston, TX, April 18, 1920, died December 18, 2014, in San Antonio, TX. In 1941 she became the first female to graduate in chemical engineering from Texas Tech University. She then worked for Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, OK, and in 1942 married Joseph Frank Svetlik, a Texas Tech classmate who had joined the company as a chemical engineer just prior to their marriage. Frank was a lifelong Phillips employee working in carbon black research.

Funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Borger Word of Life Church, Borger, Texas under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Teddy “Papa” West

On Saturday, November 29, 2014 Teddy “Papa” West, 68, went home to be with his lord and savior. Teddy was not only a good man but also a great father and grandfather. He did whatever it took to take care of his family at all times. He was the most loving, caring, and forgiving man in the world.

Lucille Olson, 88, died Saturday July 5, 2014, at her home in Borger, Texas. 

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 21 at Westlawn Memorial Park, HWY 136.

Dennis Keith Burney

August 1, 2014

Dennis Keith Burney, age 57, of Deer Park, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2014, while being comforted by his wife Christina Burney. Dennis was born September 27, 1956 in Borger, Texas, to Lloyd Wayne and Alma May Burney. He grew up in a large family that included five siblings. Dennis graduated Borger High School in 1975 and shortly after married Andrea Nolen. Together they had three children Jeff, Adam and Deniese. In 1977, Dennis began working at Phillips Petroleum Company as a mechanic. During his 20 years at Phillips, Dennis spent most of his time working at the Round Top.

Brenda Kay Williams, 69, of Borger went to be with our Lord on July 26, 2014, surrounded by loved ones. The oldest of five children, Brenda was born in Lubbock, Texas on April 4, 1945 to John and Christine Rogers. She was raised in Carlsbad, NM where she met the love of her life, Robert Lee Williams in March, 1962. They were married January 5, 1963 and celebrated their 50th Anniversary in a surprise vow renewal ceremony December 23, 2012.

Thelma Ruth Litchford Moon Dugan was lifted to heaven to be with our Lord on July 24, 2014, in Borger, Texas.
Thelma Ruth Litchford Moon Dugan was born November 25, 1928, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to John and Ruth Litchford. She attended Phillips High School. Thelma married Melvin Muriel Moon in 1945. They moved to Long Beach, California to begin their family. They lived most of their years in California until his death in 1973. They were married 28 years.
Thelma married Lloyd Dugan in and lived in Fritch until his death in 1997. They were married 19 years.
