Jeannette Carlson Johnson enjoyed the finer things in life: books, art,
crossword puzzles, movies, and ice cream. She smiled brightly and laughed hard.
She had a sharp wit and was an expert in the art of conversation. She never met a
Marilyn Yvonne Garrett of Borger, Texas passed away Monday March 3, 2014. Marilyn was born in Hutchinson County August 31935 to Casey and Ruby (Singleton) Garrett. Marilyn graduated from Phillips High School in 1953 and received a degree from Harding University in Searcy Arkansas. During her life she was an Extension Home Agent in Guymon, Oklahoma. Marilyn worked at the Borger Museum, Girl’s town in White Deer and was a “Tupperware Lady” in Borger. Marilyn was an active member of Church of Christ at Borger and the children’s bus program was her love.
Hazel Ruth Howard, 83, died March 3, 2014
at her home in Borger. Funeral services will be held at 11:00
a.m. Friday at the 1st Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Travis
Elza Marie Patterson, 84 of Borger died Saturday, March 1, 2014. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday March 5, 2014 at Minton Memorial Chapel with Pastor Connie Moore and Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. There will be a visitation Tuesday March 4, 2014 at the Funeral home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Marie was born October 8, 1929 to Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Moffitt in Achille, Oklahoma.
Fern Ritter, 76, of Pampa, died Saturday, March 01,
2014, in Pampa.
Vigil will be at 6:00 PM Monday, March 3, 2014 at St. Vincent
dePaul Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday,
March 4, 2014 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church
with Father Christopher Schwind, officiating. Following the
mass, Mrs. Ritterâ€™s body will be donated to Texas Tech School
of Medicine. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral
Mrs. Ritter was born Dec. 29, 1937 in Shamrock. She married
Lilburn Forrest Ritter on Aug. 28, 1955 in Clayton, New Mexico. He preceded her in

Dorothy was born March 8, 1925 in McNair County, TN
to Henry and Ora Russum Isbell. She was a cook at Borger
hospital and county jail. She had been a Borger resident since
1965. She loved cooking and gardening, telling jokes and loving
Rose Willingham, 80, of Fritch, born 08/18/1933 passed away 02/18/2014. Rose was a mother of six, and a seamstress who worked for the Levi-Strauss company for 20+ years. Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, W.J. Willingham, and two brothers; Rocky and Rodney Cooper. She is survived by four children, Sabrina Walker of Amarillo, Weldon Freeman of Amarillo, Diana Dillard of Kerrville, and Ruth Cooper of Amarillo. She has 19 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Rose will be held at 305. N. Robey in Fritch.

Verla Joyce Smith, 67, of Borger, died Saturday, February 22, 2014. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 108 Broadmoor in Borger. Burial will be in Thomas, Oklahoma. Mrs. Smith was born on October 9, 1946 in Redlands, California to Irene and Leonard Kirk. She had been an associate at Walmart for 15 years. She married Edward Warren Smith on August 7, 1971 in Riverside, California. She was a zealous minister of the good news of Jehovah’s Kingdom, being baptized on July 20, 1973.
Russell Allen Dillon went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 26, 2014 in his hometown of Walsh Colorado. Services will be held on Friday at the Walsh Baptist Church at 10 am. Russell was born on May 27, 1953 in Elkhart, Kansas. He lived in the Borger area and worked at the Phillips refinery. Russell is preceded in death by his wife, Diane Dillon, mother, Laura (Happy) Dillon, and a brother, James Michael Dillon.
