Eugene M. Phillips, age 81, of Panhandle, died on Friday, March 16, 2012.
A Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, Panhandle, with the Rev. Mark Urquhart and grandson Zack Esgar officiating. Arrangements will be handled by Minton Chatwell Funeral Home.
Mr. Phillips was born in Amarillo, Texas on November 24, 1930 to parents James C. and Ruth Phillips; moving to Borger, Texas the same year where he grew up, graduating from Borger High School in 1948.
Amanda Lynn Butler, 33, died March 15, 2012 in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ted Wilson, St. Andrew United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Calvin Dean Taylor, 73, of Borger, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Amarillo. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ at Borger with Mr. Denny Sneed, Minister officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Mr. Taylor was a lifetime resident of Borger and a member of the Church of Christ at Borger. He was a field foreman for Texaco before retiring. He was married to Billye Conner August I, 1985 in Borger.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Raymond.
Jimmie Savage, 81, of Amarillo, passed away, Sunday, March 11, 2012.
Jimmie Elijah Savage was born August 29, 1930 in Paducah, TX to Elijah and Lillie (Burns) Savage. He married Rachel McCool on August 16, 1952 in Clovis, NM. He was an Instrument Man for Phillips Petroleum for 37 years. Jimmie was chairman for the Union, a lifetime member of the Borger Elks Lodge and coached the Borger Colt League for ten years. Rachel and Jimmie were longtime residents of Borger for over fifty years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Guy and sister-in-law, Lois Savage.
Judy Kay Rasco, 58, of Fritch, passed away, Saturday, March 10, 2012.
Judy Kay (Truly) Rasco was born Thursday, March 12, 1953 in Dallas, TX to Robert and Melba (Jenkins) Truly. She married Rodger Rasco on March 25, 1976 in McKinney, TX. She was Director of Cosmetology at Frank Phillips College for ten years.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Melba Truly and her husband, Rodger Rasco.
Shorty (Jimmie Lee--J L) Albert, 89, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 15, at the First United Methodist Church, 403 S Cornell in Fritch at 1:00 PM.
Mary Morris, 72, of Borger, passed away, Monday, March 12, 2012.
Mary Francis (Matthews) Morris was born April 1, 1939 in Gainesville, TX to William and James Frances (Honeycutt) Matthews. She was a beautician and owned DonMar Style Salon. â€śMiss Maryâ€ť also worked part time for Brown Funeral Directors.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Morris; two sisters, Grace and Thelma; and one brother, James.
Anna Marie McMillan, 60, of Fritch died Saturday, March 10, 2012, in Amarillo
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the Church of Christ in Fritch. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Anna was born Nov. 4, 1951, in Amarillo to Martin and Cecilia Shields Craven. She married Butch McMillan on Feb. 24, 1997, in Amarillo.
Anna loved spending time outdoors including snow and water skiing and yard work.
She also loved taking care of her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
James Ray Langley, Jr., 53, died March 11, 2012 in Borger, TX.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, at the Faith Christian Church, in Borger, with Pastor Tim Bernard officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery, in the Garden of Evergreen, under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors.
James was born on January 25, 1959 to James and Silvia Langley in Great Falls, Montana.
WHITE DEER â€“ Charles â€śChuckâ€ť Dobbs died Thursday, March 8, 2012.
Mr. Dobbs was born Nov. 7, 1930, in Batesville, Ark., to Charles and Belle Dobbs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his son Rex Dobbs.
Survivors include his wife, Vera K. Dobbs of White Deer; a son, Glynn Dobbs; a daughter, Cindy Sue Miller; two brothers, Walter Dobbs and Harlen Dobbs; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at a later date.
