Barney Lee Tubbs, 84, died December 29 in Borger. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Jeff Hutchison, officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Warner Memorial Cemetery in Warner, OK under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Rickey Martin Wood, 57 of Fritch died Friday December 28th in Fritch. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Fritch Church of Christ with Richard Kasko officiating. Burial will be at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Rickey was born May 27, 1955 at Borger. He retired from Chevron Phillips as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the NRA. He loved watching football, playing golf and going to the gun range.
Funeral services for Dorothy Reeves, 88, of Lamesa ,will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church Chapel in Lamesa with Chris Powell officiating.
Burial will follow in Lamesa Memorial Park under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Friday, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Reeves died on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in Lubbock.
She was born on April 5, 1924 in Marquette County, Mich. to Rudolph and Alina (Peterson) Johnson. Dorothy married Thomas Cecil Reeves on Nov. 9, 1945.
He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2003.
Dorothy Elizabeth Thrutchley, 94, of Fritch, Tx. Passed away December 24th, 2012.
A graveside service will be held on January 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 7000 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri. A Memorial Service will be held following the graveside service at 1 p.m. at the Bethel Community of Christ Church, located at 8510 Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, Kansas.
Leota Nadine West, 91, of Borger died December 27, 2012 in Borger. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wellington with Elder Kay Littrell officiating under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.
Leota was born September 4, 1921 in Hollis, OK to Charles and Bessie Curry. She has lived in Borger since 1942 and was a member of the Church of Christ at Borger. She was a dispatcher for the Borger Police Department for 11 years.
Edward E. â€śBuddyâ€ť Rowh, 85, of Fritch died December 25, 2012 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Riverview Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Howard, Former Pastor and Rev. Mark England, Pastor of Fortress Baptist Church officiating. Burial is at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. The Lord welcomed him home on Christmas Day.
Sherry La Sha Elliot, 47, of Stinnett, Texas died, December 24, 2012 from complications of lung cancer.Â Sherry was born in Dallas, Texas, April 24, 1965.Â She traveled with her family & sister, living in Charleston, S C., Virginia Beach, VA, Pearl City, Hawaii, and Rogers, AK.Â She moved to Hutchinson County, after the death of her Husband, in Lake Havasu, AZ.Â She is survived by her Father, Norman E. Cook, of Borger, TX,Â her Mother, Linda C.
Betty Ann was born on February 19, 1929 in Macon, Georgia, to William Russell and Ethel Gladys Grant, and passed from this life on Christmas Eve â€“ December 24, 2012. She was 83. She has two brothers, David Russell and Charles Mullis Grant, both of Macon. She married Beale Barnard Denton on January 1, 1950, and they had six children, She has 23 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Fritch - Edward E. â€śBuddyâ€ť Rowh, 85, of Fritch died Tuesday, December 25, in Amarillo. Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 28 at the Riverview Baptist Church. Burial was under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Carolyn Ethel Duke Jones was born in Borger, Texas on December 1,1948 to Elbert and Mary Duke. She graduated from Borger High school in 1967 where she was a member of the Borger band. She was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church where she participated in the Young Womanâ€™s AuxilIary. Carolyn passed away on December 22,2012 after a courageous battle with a brief illness with family at her side. Over the years, Carolyn has had many different jobs from child care provider to customer services representative and secretary, but the job she cherished most was that of wife, mother, and â€śgrammyâ€ť.
