C. Ruell Lowe passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at his home in Ponca City, OK at the age of 72.Â
He was born on March 27, 1939 in Butler, Okla., to his parents Herman and Mable Lowe.Â He taught industrial arts at Borger High School for 14 years and worked at Conoco-Phillips as a piping designer for 17 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mable Lowe, and his sisters, Jonnie Johnson and Margy Douglas.
FRITCH - On Tuesday, March 29, 2011, Beverly June Callahan was met by husband Hughie, son Thomas, daughter Geraldine Adams and two grandsons, Michael Coates and Allen Myers when she went home to be with the Lord.
Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, later. Cremation is under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
Lillian âTimmieâ McKiernan Sloan, 83, died Saturday, April 2, 2011.
Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening in St. Theresaâs Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theresaâs with Father Mieczyslaw Przepiora officiating.
Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery under the direction of Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
In 1960 she moved to Panhandle, with her husband, Jack McKiernan where they were involved in agriculture and owned a farm implement business. She was preceded in death by Jack McKiernan in 1989.
Fern Fleming Cain, 96, passed away Saturday April 2, 2011, in Borger at her home.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Minton Memorial Chapel with Rev. James Stephens, pastor of First Christian Church of Borger and Rev. Jim Fox of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Dirctors of Borger.
Lois Hawley, 93, of Amarillo died on Thursday, March 31, 2011.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. with Tommy Anderson, Minister at Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Hawley was born on July 14, 1917 in McComb County, Mississippi to Albert and Flora Harbin. She was a member of Northridge Church of Christ.
AMARILLO - Robert Landrum Mathews, 82, died March 30, 2011, in Amarillo.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Corky Holland, First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo.
Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell, Amarillo.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the funeral home.
AMARILLO - Lilburn âPeeWeeâ Forrest Ritter, 76, died March 30, 2011, in Amarillo, TX.
Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating.
Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Mr. Ritter was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Groom. He attended schools in Grandview. He married Fern Canady on Aug. 28, 1955, in Clayton, N.M.

Mrs. Callahan was born on June 2, 1926, in Vacaville, Calif., and was a Fritch resident since 2000. She was a waitress for Waffle House for 20 years and was a Baptist. She especially enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Louisa Bartell, her husband Hughie Callahan, and her son Thomas Callahan.
Luther Edward (LE) Thomas, 83, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. with Sammy O'Dell, Pastor of Grace Communion International, officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Vera Doughty, 85, of Stinnett, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011, in Amarillo.
Vera Fay (Chase) Doughty was born in Bovina on May 24, 1925 to Edgar and Marie Chase. She married Oscar Doughty 66 years ago on Nov. 24, 1944, in Carlsbad, N.M. She was a housewife and a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church, where Vera was proud to be a charter member. Vera was involved in the WMU, Prayer Chain, and taught Sunday school classes through the years at several churches.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
