Herbert “Pete” Collins, 83, of Borger, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011.
Herbert Glen “Pete” Collins was born Sunday, December 11, 1927 in Clarita, OK to James and Martha (Caine) Collins. He married Daphine Griffin on July 8, 1949 in Coalgate, OK. He was the owner of Collins Well Service. He served his country in WWII as a member of the United States Navy.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Edward Lewis “Eddie” Collins; and ten siblings.
Clair Lusk, 86, of Borger, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011.
Clair Pauline (Lacefield) Lusk was born Friday, June, 5, 1925 in Hancock County, Kentucky to John and Callie (Phillips) Lacefield. She was a homemaker and volunteered for the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Billy Ray Lusk; a granddaughter, Leann Vaughn in 1995 and 12 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Vaughn Lusk and wife Kaci of Borger, TX and Rodney Vaughn and wife Teri of Borger, TX; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren,
R.S. “Sid” Newberry, 86, of Fritch, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011.
Raymond Sidney Newberry was born Tuesday, January 1, 1925 in Denoya, OK to Homer and Lillie (Meier) Newberry. He married Ada Stringer on October 9, 1945 in Borger, TX. Before retiring, he was a heavy equipment operator for Natural Gas Pipeline. He served his country in the US Army as a private during WWII.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Marrion Newberry.
Denver Cornelius, 85, of Borger, passed away Sunday June 12, 2011.
Denver Cornelius, Jr. was born August 13, 1925, to Denver & Carrie (Scott) Cornelius in Franklin, TX. He was a printer by trade. He married Kathleen Garrett in 1949.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Orvill Cornelius of Borger, 2 sisters, Evelyn Ricks of Huntsville and Sara Salter of Gladewater.
PANHANDLE - Anna “Ann” Marie Looten Lindsey, 84, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Amarillo.
Rosary Service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church and funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Panhandle with Father Mieczyslaw Przepiora officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Groom under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
