Borger, Sanford gear up for July 4th celebrations

The Fourth of July makes everyone smile - it’s grilled food, sparklers, and everything red, white, and blue. For many families, it is the best party of the summer.
This year, the City of Borger wants to make it one of the biggest celebrations of the summer.

Golf tournament set up to aid child

Josey Inselman is about to join the ranks of Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods. Of course, the 7-year-old daughter of West Texas High School graduate Ashley (Phillips) Inselman would probably rather not.
In an effort to help second grader battle a serious form of cancer, residents of her hometown in Perkins, Oklahoma, have decided to stage a golf tournament and are reaching out to Hutchinson County residents who would like to get in a few strokes for a good cause. The tournament will be held on July 12 at the Cimarron Trails Golf Course in Perkins.

Relay For Life kicks off today

Let the fun – and fight begin.
Hutchinson County’s annual effort to help raise funds for the nation’s fight against cancer officially gets under way this evening in Huber Park when the 2014 Relay For Life event kiocks off. The event will begin at 7 p.m. and run through 7 a.m. on Saturday.
