Teens send Thumper and Tiny on big adventure in first book

Like any grandmother, Judy Flanders is extremely proud of her granddaughter., Kaitlin Bledsoe. She is, in her grandmother’s eyes, has always been sweet, gifted and talented.
The only difference now is Kaitlin is now being deemed cute, sweet and talented by everyone else.

Redneck Olympics fundraiser scheduled to get under way this Saturday in Fritch

The rednecks are about to get their own sports event ... and everyone will get a few laughs from it while generating some additional funds for victims of the May 11 wildfire in Fritch that destroyed more than 230 homes and left over 100 residents homeless.
“We wanted to do something to help,” said Olympics organizer Madeline Lyckman. “But I knew if we were going to do this, we were going to have a good time doing it.”

White to donate show proceeds to fire victims

Comedian Ron White, famous for his “Blue Collar Comedy Tour” with Jeff Foxworthy, is doing his best to bring a few smiles to Hutchinson County. The comedian announced earlier this week that he would be donating to proceeds of his upcoming “Nutcracker” show in Wichita Falls to the Hutchinson County United Ways’ Fritch Wildfire Relief Fund.

STINNETT – The Hutchinson County Commissioner’s sent a clear message to the federal government on Monday morning during their meeting. They aren’t opposed to housing needy immigrant children ... but they don’t want to be footing the bill at local taxpayers’ expense.

Lake Meredith benefitting greatly from recent rainfall

When it comes to rainfall, residents of Hutchinson County had two reasons to be thrilled to see precipitation falling from the sky. The rain was desperately needed for crops, and, even more so, it was needed to help add water to Lake Meredith.

County could close wildfire debris site

Hutchinson County could soon find itself telling victims of the May 11 wildfire they can’t dispose of their debris at the designated dump site in Fritch. And, according to county officials, it will have to happen sooner rather than later in order to facilitate the removal of the debris by outside companies.

HC3 gears up for annual telethon

Bid, buy, and care. That is what the people holding the 2014 Hutchinson County Telethon would like Hutchinson County residents to do next weekend when they stage the 2014  HC3 Telethon.
Every year, the Hutchinson County Crisis Center (HC3) puts together a telethon to fight against abuse and help victims thought their journey after getting away from abuse - they are the backbone for victims recovering from child and adult sexual assault and family violence.
