Bid, buy, and care. That is what the people holding the 2014 Hutchinson County Telethon would like Hutchinson County residents to do next weekend when they stage the 2014 HC3 Telethon.
Every year, the Hutchinson County Crisis Center (HC3) puts together a telethon to fight against abuse and help victims thought their journey after getting away from abuse - they are the backbone for victims recovering from child and adult sexual assault and family violence.

Just how precious is water in West Texas? Evidently, it is so precious some are ready to petition that what is here should stay here.
An online petition has been circulating the Internet since yesterday in an effort to convince the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority to halt pumping water from Lake Meredith. As of Wednesday evening, the petition had gained 412 e-signatures in a 24-hour time span.
According to the petition, local residents want CRMWA to cease pumping water from the lake in order to preserve the lake’s recent gains.
Most youngsters who decided to attend a vacation Bible school event expect to spend a few hours learning about Jesus, God and have a little fun. The students signing up for the Fairlanes Baptist Church are certainly aiming to do all of the above - and help out a local family or two out.

The Hutchinson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo Association will be hosting its 57th Annual rodeo this Saturday at the HCSP Arena. The arean is located at the of Bulldog Blvd.

The Northwest Well Field moved another step closer to becoming a reality on Tuesday afternoon when the Borger City Council voted to approve a pair of bid recommendatuons for water project. And the good news is it won’t cost taxpayers as much as expected.
David Carr, Dean of Career and Technology at Frank Phillips College, learned last month that Susan Combs, Texas Comptroller of Accounts, has awarded the college a Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant in the amount of $242,646.
Area employers who actively supported FPC’s grant request to the Texas Comptroller of Accounts include North Plains Electric Cooperative; Chevron Phillips Chemical, LP; and Hilmar Cheese.
