A water balloon fight at Borger High School the week prior to spring break took an ugly turn for one BHS student.
Roper Cox addressed the Borger ISD school board at its recent meeting on her son’s behalf. During the water balloon fight, her son was hit with a balloon filled with urine.
She said she wanted to know what the school district was going to do, and would rather see the district handle it than taking it to the police.
An armed and dangerous fugitive was arrested by the Borger Police Department on Tuesday.

The Hutchinson County United Way is seeking projects for its Day of Caring this April.
The event is scheduled for April 28, 2012. There will not be a day of caring scheduled this fall.
According to Teri Hogue, who is on the United Way Board of Directors, this particular event is a day when volunteers choose to give their time and services to work on a one-time service project in an effort to impact the community’s needs with tasks that they are unable to perform themselves.
“Projects are dependent upon the manpower available,” she said.
It has come to the attention of the Utility Department of the City of Borger that a company calling itself “Home Service” out of Austin, Texas, has been mailing notices regarding water service lines to the citizens of Borger. This company offers what is in effect, an insurance policy covering the citizen’s water service line from the water meter to the foundation of the house. The City of Borger wishes to advise its citizens that the City is in no way affiliated with nor do we endorse their product. Citizens should investigate the situation thoroughly before responding to such offers.
The Borger News Herald would like to correct details given in regards to the incident involving Gregory Louis Huval, II.
The original story states, “A high speed chase occurred on Highway 136 last Saturday involving a robbery suspect.”
