The Salvation Army in Borger will be taking Angel Tree Applications from 10/22/2014 through 10/31/2014 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Christmas Kettles begin 11/29 and will be rung from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Bell ringers will be needed 11/29 through 12/23. Call 273-2491 for more information.

Mashable asked the data miners at Google Trends to share what costumes people are searching the most, and unsurprisingly, Queen Elsa tops the list. She's joined by a few of her Frozen castmates, and a whole slew of familiar faces in the pop culture world. So, while that Guardian's of the Galaxy costume may seem like a really awesome idea, thousands of others are planning to wear the same thing.

The National Park Service "Stars at Night" program will be presented on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and a jacket. The NPS will provide hot chocolate and cookies. Enjoy the view!
