A traffic stop in Borger Saturday night resulted in the arrests of two local men, one of whom a wanted criminal.
At approximately 9:50 pm on the evening of January 18th, a Traffic Unit Officer with the Borger Police Department conducted a routine traffic stop in the 100 block of W. 8th Street. Upon further investigation, the officer discovered the driver, 28-year old Clayton Miller Gray of Borger, to be in possession of 1 gram of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), as well as drug paraphernalia.

Two local residents are in police custody after a robbery at a local convenience store.
Just before 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning, at least one armed person entered CEFCOâ€™s 205 N. Cedar location where employee Brandie Ynojosa and Assistant Manager Jeremy Lynch were working, said employees at the CEFCO store.
The assailants demanded money and the employees complied. The robber(s) left with no injuries occurring.
The Borger Police Department said in a press release that officers were able to gather evidence that led them to suspects at 1000 block of Thrams.
Brenden Kai Moffitt, 23, has been charged with 1st degree murder for the New Year's Day slaying of his father, Herschel Bryan Moffitt, who died from multiple fatal gunshot wounds, according to a Lt. Jeremy Hundley from the Borger Police Department.
A dispute between a father and son turned deadly Wednesday evening, ending with a 23-year old Borger man being taken in to custody on homicide charges.
Police and emergency crews are on scene on the 900 block of Nelson street in Borger in response to a possible shooting. Intersections on both ends of the street (Sterling and Johnson intersections) are currently blocked by emergency crews, and the street is inaccessible, even to residents. Borger News Herald is also on the scene, and will be updating as we know more.
UPDATE 7:51 p.m. - Residents are now being allowed onto the street.
