United Way Campaign is Well Underway!

The 2014-2015 United Way campaign is well underway.

"Our goal is $650,000. Through our work place rallies, we have bought in pledges of just over $76,000 to date," commented Julie Winters, Executive Director of the Hutchinson County United Way.

Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument

The National Park Service recently held a Star Gazing party at Alibates. Many area residents came to observe the stars in the night sky. Alibates is a great place to hike, star gaze, and learn about the flint that is  found only in the Alibates area.

Thursday's Partial Eclipse

Suspect in custody following lenghtly standoff

Cameron Grubbs, 22 was arrested today after a lengthy standoff  on Clayton Street in Borger Texas. Grubbs baracaded himself in a home on Clayton Street after he was issued a felony warrant by the Hutchinson County Sheriff Department.

Salvation Army Preparing for Christmas

The Salvation Army in Borger will be taking Angel Tree Applications from 10/22/2014 through 10/31/2014 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Christmas Kettles begin 11/29 and will be rung from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. Bell ringers will be needed 11/29 through 12/23. Call 273-2491 for more information.
