Does Borger have any public storm shelters? Due to the high standards that FEMA has for public storm shelters, Borger does not have any FEMA approved shelters. However there are no rules against people taking friends and neighbors into their own storm cellers or churches opening up facilities for people to take cover. You will find the FEMA standards in Fridays paper.

With the recent tornado tragedy in Moore, the BNH sought out the advice of local officials for their best tips and strategies should something big happen here.
The Wednesday editon will have full coverage of the Moore tornado, local places that are accepting donations, and the tips from local officials.
The Cast and Crew of TEXAS Musical is presenting a special Memorial Day Tribute at the Pioneer Amphitheatre in Palo Duro Canyon.
The evening ceremony will start at 9pm, Monday May 27th. The State Park will extend its hours of operation and normal park entry fees apply. The performance is free of charge and is a gift to the community from TEXAS, Wells Fargo, KGNC AM & FM and The Eagle.
The Carnival is in town, the Pride of Texas carnival which is the premier carnival traveling the Texas Panhandle will open on Wednesday, May 22nd and run through Sunday May 26th. Pride of Texas has brought to Borger and surrounding towns fun for all ages for many years. Bring the family to the Dome area and enjoy a fun night out complete with rides, games and food.
The Borger High School All-Choir Spring Concert is set for 6:30 p.m. this evening in the BHS Auditorium. The choirs will be doing music from the 60s, 70s, and disco era. Everyone is invited!
