The Hutchinson County Hospital District Board of Directors will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, in the executive board room of Golden Plains Community Hospital.
The board will be discussing and acting on the signing of a construction contract with Kelly Wood Company. The company will be in charge of construction for the new medical office building.
Action will also be taken on a focused report on Fritch and Stinnett EMS subsidies, the realtor for the sale of the old hospital land, and the new life pack defibrillators. Updates will be given on the last two items.

2-3-13 Terry Blankenship was arrest for possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
With election time coming in May, local entities are making preparations to get ready. The City of Borger is among those making preparations.
The Scholarship Drive for Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 is in full swing and there are funds available for you.
Frank Phillips College has scholarship funds for qualified applicants to attend FPC in Borger, Perryton, Dalhart, Hereford, or Dumas. It is that easy, but donâ€™t miss the deadline of April 15th.
The Hutchinson County Historical Museum will celebrate â€śThe boom, the bust and ten years of dustâ€ť with a look back at the first twenty years of Borger. â€¨Â
On March 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. the museum is presenting a lecture program given by Krissy Scotten, NOAA Warning Coordination meteorologist, who will share current and projected environmental changes and current dust bowl conditions.â€¨Â

Borger, TX, Jan. 31, 2013 - After opening its door a year ago, Golden Plains Community Hospital has been awarded the Excellence-Merit Award from the Central Texas Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).
This past week the Owner, Architect, and Contractor were presented with a Cast Bronze Eagle in commemoration of the award.

It will be a relative quiet end to the work and school week with temperatures topping out close to 60Â° this afternoon. The sky will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with just a few high, thin clouds drifting by. The wind will blow from the south-southwest at 15 to 25 mph most of the day before shifting to the northeast late this afternoon.
Gary Fletcher, Wal-Mart Manager, has said the land west of the hospital is now owned by Wal-Mart, and the deal was finalized about a month ago. The land is a total of 17 acres. He also said the most current groundbreaking date he has for the new store is November of this year. He said this date has been moved twice since he moved to Borger. It will take around nine months from the time of groundbreaking to get the store built and ready for customers.
