2-24-13 Nathan Lyn Holland was arrested on felony warrant #10964 – sexual assault child, warrant #38791 – probation violation reckless driving, and warrant #38791 – commitment reckless driving.
2-24-13 Jair Lara was arrested on warrant #39306 and warrant #39402 – commitment assault causes bodily injury
2-25-13Â Deputies responded to a burglary on Tenth St in Borger

Borger ISD schools will be delayed two hours on Wednesday, Feb. 27.
All dealers and racks will be accounted for, receiving the Monday edition of the paper. Carriers will be delivering papers in residential areas where the roads are clear. The Tuesday and Wednesday papers will be combined. Thank you for your cooperation and patience!
Due to weather conditions in the area the Pantex FCU Annual Membership meeting scheduled for Tuesday Feb 26th has been cancelled. Pantex will reschedule the meeting as soon as we can determine available open dates for the BCAC and they will make an announcement as soon as we can. They apologize for any inconvenience, but they want their members to be able to attend safely.

There will be NO classes for Borger ISD, Spring Creek ISD, Sanford-Fritch ISD, or PSPCISD on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013.
The Borger News Herald will not have a paper today due to the weather and extremely hazardous road conditions. We will let our readers know when to expect paper delivery to resume. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we are watching out for the safety of our employees!

After the wonderful moisture we received Wednesday night through yesterday morning, today will be a quieter day. It is going to remain chilly though with highs hovering close to 40° and a good deal of clouds sticking around. The wind will thankfully be light, shifting from the northwest to the southeast during the day.

The meeting on the synthetic drug issue in Borger has been moved from Borger City Hall to Borger High School. The date and time will remain the same, Feb. 28, 2013 at 6:30 p.m.
2-19-13 Deputies transported an individual to the Pavilion in Amarillo for a mental commitment
2-20-13 William Denton Isom was transported from Harris County to the Hutchinson County Jail on warrant #38804 for the offense of probation violation – DWI.

UPDATE: The Relay For Life Team meeting will be held March 4, not Feb. 4.
Teams are now being formed for the American Cancer Society’s 2013 Relay For Life of Hutchinson County event, set for June 7 and 8 at Huber Park in Borger. A team organizational meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4 in the Council Chambers at Borger City Hall. The 2013 theme for the annual event is “Kickin’ it to Cancer”.
