Borger gains a new 501C3 organization.
This Saturday local citizens and officials will celebrate the coming of Bikers Aginst Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.) at Dakes from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., where B.A.C.A High Plains Chapter will receive its full charter.
According to the B.A.C.A. High Plains Chapter president Ray "Sugar" Eller, B.A.C.A began to form last August. In the past year they have ridden their bikes on several trips around Texas receiving training from legal, medical and physiological professionals in the proper manner of dealing with abused children and abuse cases.

The Fritch Fire Department responded to a large structure fire Wednesday morning.
According to Hutchinson County Fire Marshal Danny Richards, a 911 call came in at 9:45 a.m. yesterday saying a home on the 300 block of Fritch Drive was on fire.

There were mixed emotions expressed by Borger News-Herald readers regarding the outcome of the Tuesday election in President Barack Obama's favor.
Becky White shared a message of optimism, saying that “No matter who is the President, Jesus is King!”
“Just look at Wall Street!” Jeff Parkhurst said with an air of humor. “Goodbye retirement! I'm moving to Colorado.”

The current President of the United States will remain in office for a second term.
President Barack Obama defeated Republican challenger Mitt Romney in what many projected to be neck-and-neck race. He received 303 electoral votes in the final tally to Romney's 206.
However, it appears that the popular vote is still too close to call, as Florida has not declared a winner as of press time today. Presently, totals show that President Obama received 58,961,679 votes across the country and Romney received 56,601,653 votes.

It’s almost Christmas time at the Hutchinson County Museum!
Christmas is just around the corner and kids are invited to post Christmas Greetings on the museum gallery walls! This year the Hutchinson County Museum will present a kids’ Christmas greeting art show.
“We want to give the kids a venue to show their art and say Merry Christmas to the community,” says Lynn Hopkins, HCM Administrator.
This year the museum will post all the art on its walls for the entire community and visitors to enjoy.

Today is Election Day, and Borger News-Herald readers have differing opinions regarding who will emerge the victor in the U.S. presidential race.
Faleshia Sutherland said she believes Governor Mitt Romney will win, because she says Obamacare is killing families. Krystal Hope said she believes President Barack Obama will get a second term, but didn’t elaborate.
Joe Kelly said he believes the numbers don’t tell the whole story.
UPDATE: 10:20 Obama wins with 275 electorial votes
UPDATE: 10:16 p.m.: Obama projected to take Ohio, Iowa, and Oregon. President Barack Obama projected to be reelected. 275 electoral votes to 203 for Romney.
UPDATE: 10:07 p.m.: Romney projected to take Missouri. Projected electoral counts are Obama, 244; Romney, 203.
UPDATE: 10:02 p.m.: Obama takes Washington, California, and Hawaii in projections. Romney takes North Carolina and Idaho. Projected electoral counts are Obama, 244; Romney, 193.

The Borger Noon Lions Club will be holding an Election Day Chili event from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012. The event will be held at the Girl Scout Little House, 119 North McGee.
It is hard to believe, but Election Day is tomorrow!
Voters across the area, state, and country will going to the polls today to cast ballots for various races. Several of these voters will be right here in Hutchinson County.
On Election Day, set for Nov. 6, polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The polling places are as follows:
*Precinct 11 - Faith Covenant Church, 1501 South Florida, Borger
*Precinct 14 - Fairlanes Baptist Church, 3000 Fairlanes Boulevard, Borger
*Precinct 21 - Fritch School Administration Building, 540 Eagle Boulevard, Fritch

The Borger City Council will hold a meeting and work session on Tuesday.
The first part of the work session will begin at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Borger Fire Station at 200 North Cedar. Council members will tour and discuss proposed renovations to the Borger Central Fire Station. The council will then recess the work session until after the regularly scheduled meeting.
The council’s regular meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers of Borger City Hall, 600 North Main.
