Recently Hutchinson County Precinct Three received a donated previously leased F550 Ford Diesel truck from DCP Midstream to help aid grass fires throughout the Texas Panhandle.
The truck was donated to the Hutchinson County on November 30, 2011.
A Hutchinson County sheriff’s deputy made a drug arrest in Fritch city limits Tuesday evening.
On Tuesday night, a vehicle was stopped in Fritch city limits on a traffic-related offense, according to Hutchinson County Sheriff Guy Rowh. The investigation resulted in a discovery of approximately 16 grams of a substance which tested positive for methamphetamine. Paraphernalia associated with controlled substance offenses was also discovered.

This morning in Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow meaning there will be six more weeks of winter.
Any hopes that Phil's prediction would not affect Hutchinson County went away fast as Prairie Dog Pete saw his shadow as well.

Lake Meredith National Recreation Area will once again be conducting a youth program this summer.
The summer youth work program will be conducted under the authority of the Youth Conservation Corps through the National Park Service.
LMNRA will hire four youth enrollees between the ages of 15 and 18. The program will run for eight weeks, from June 4 to July 27, 2012, and enrollees must be available to work for the entire duration of the program.
Initial ruling: Fire intentional, investigation still taking place
Borger officials are investigating a fire that occurred at an abandoned apartment complex Tuesday evening.
On January 31, 2012, an abandoned North Park apartment complex in the 1400 block of Hazelwood was set on fire.
Borger Fire Marshal Jerry Langwell stated, that the fire department received the call at 9:29 p.m.
At 10 p.m. firefighters contained the fire.
He continued to say one of the bedrooms in the complex that caught fire was heavily damaged by smoke.
Another Borger resident has been sentenced in federal court for drug possession.
Raphael Garcia, Jr., 36, of Borger,was sentenced in Amarillo on January 31, 2012 by U.S. District Judge Mary Lou Robinson to 160 months in federal prison following his guilty plea in November 2011 to a felony information charging one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to U.S. Attorney Sarah R. Saldaña of the Northern District of Texas.

Hutchinson County Republican Women will conduct their regular business meeting on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 12:00 Noon at Dake's Restaurant. The guest speakers are the Sheriff Candidates: Mickey Blackmon, Don Johnson and James Qualls. The public is invited to attend. Several local officials responded to an incident regarding a Stinnett citizen Monday evening.
Around 7:30 p.m. on January 30, 2012, a call was made to Stinnett Police Department regarding a suicide attempt. Stinnett PD responded to the home of Troy Lassiter, 41, on Brown Street in Stinnett with intentions to call the man down and take action if needed.
Stinnett Chief of Police Marie Farbro said Lassiter called the police for help, stating he was going to kill himself with a gun. He was communicating with his stepfather on the phone.
One of Borger’s finest is doing his part each day to ensure that the students who walk through the halls of Borger High School are safe, law-abiding citizens.
Terry Don Webster, who is an officer for the Borger Police Department and the School Resource Officer for Borger High School, spoke about his work during the Rotary Club meeting Tuesday afternoon.
Webster was born and raised in Borger. Prior to the high school, he worked as a SRO at Borger Middle School for three years. He said he loves his work and enjoys being with the students.
