Borger PD release information on Tuesday wreck on Hwy 136

A wreck between two vehicles occurred late Tuesday evening on Highway 136.
The accident, which occurred around 8:51 p.m., was between a red 1998 Dodge Ram pickup and a white 2011 Jeep Wrangler.
Inside the Dodge Ram pickup was driver Krista Paige Segars, 23, and passenger Cameron K. Segars, 22, both of Borger.
Inside the Jeep Wrangler was driver Steven Lynn Moore, 51, and passenger Rae Ladawn Moore, 50, both of Borger.

Borger Elks Lodge holding pancake breakfast Saturday

Come enjoy yummy, mouthwatering, and fresh pancakes on Saturday with the Borger Elks Lodge #1581, 200 Opal Street.
Anyone with no breakfast plans and looking to help a local community organization can attend the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast starting at 6 a.m. and running through 11 a.m. on June 2, 2012.
This breakfast is sponsored by the Borger Elks Lodge # 1581 sweetheart.
Admission is $6 per person and take out orders are available. Proceeds will go to benefit Handicapped Children’s Care.

Spring Fling carnival happening now through Sunday

The Borger Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual “Spring Fling Carnival.”
The carnival opened Wednesday, May 30, and will continue through Sunday, June 3, 2012. Wristbands will be available.
Operating hours will be from 6 p.m. through 11:30 p.m. on Friday. It will open from 2 p.m. till 12 a.m. on Saturday and 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The carnival is at the grounds near the Hutchinson County Aluminum Dome. For more information, call 274-2211.

Teen arrested on drug charge

A Borger teen was arrested Tuesday for drug possession.
On May 29, 2012, Borger police officers responded to 815 West Tenth Street in reference to an investigation.
Once at the residence, officers arrested Jaden Dion Salinas, 18, for the on-view offense of possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone, which is a felony of the second degree, according to Lt. Anthony Griffin of the Borger Police Department.

United’s Saturday cookout to benefit RFL

Team UCREW (United) in Borger will be cooking up some delicious hot dogs and hamburger this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Go by the local United Food store and have a great burger or dog and a drink and help support this team in their efforts to raise money for Relay For Life of Hutchinson County.

All proceeds from the sales will benefit the American Cancer Society via Relay For Life of Hutchinson County, which will be held from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9 at Huber Park in Borger.
