Foundation wants to give back to local agency

Feinstein Foundation wants to gives back to Living Water of Borger.
Through April 30, any money given to Living Water, 103 W. 4th St., will qualify Living Water for funds from The Alan Feinstein Foundation. In the past they have received a percentage of the $1 million given by them to agencies fighting hunger for the past 2 years and hope to get more than that this year.
Citizens can give money or food to Living Water. The food will benefit clients and is valued at $1 per item or $1 per pound.

Council approves seal coating for Isom streets

The Borger City Council has approved action on an agreement that will allow staff to seal coat streets in the Isom addition.
During its regular meeting last Tuesday, the council approved action on an interlocal agreement between Borger and other communities for the 2012 seal coat program.
Ted Dodd, Director of Public Works for the City of Borger, said the city does this program each year in conjunction with other cities and the Parkhill, Smith, and Cooper firm.
The agreement gives the city economy of scale in purchasing new seal coat services and prevents duplication of effort.

Fund raiser being held for park rec program

The staff at Johnson Park Youth Center felt like it needed to do its part to help the Park Recreation Program 2012, so it is selling The World’s Greatest Chocolate Candy Bars. The candy bars are complete with our own label, the city logo and park recreation 2012 logo. The staff knew the city of Borger, merchants and individuals were digging deep to help the Park Recreation Program so it wanted to do its part in raising money. All profit from the candy bars goes straight to the Park Recreation Program. Above is a picture of Peyton McWilliams and Shelby McCarty, Asst.
