A feasibility study for a new events center in Borger has received the green light from the Borger City Council.
During its regular meeting Tuesday, the council approved the proposal from CS&L to conduct a feasibility study on a potential multi-purpose events center and authorize an expenditure from the tourism fund not to exceed $50,000 for the project.
All through Texas, the law enforcement participates in a campaign called the “Great Texas Warrant Round Up” once a year through municipal courts.
Statistics have to be compiled and sent to Austin to make a report to see how successful the roundup is in the long run.
The warrant round-up for Borger will start this weekend with notifications being sent to any persons with warrants. Lists will also be in the Feb. 11 and 12, 2012, weekend edition of the Borger News Herald.
Vanessa Jones and Tyrell Haynes were named the basketball homecoming queen and king during festivities held between the Borger High basketball games against Perryton Tuesday evening at Tex Hanna Gym.
