The Borger Noon Lions Club will be holding an Election Day Chili event from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012. The event will be held at the Girl Scout Little House, 119 North McGee.
It is hard to believe, but Election Day is tomorrow!
Voters across the area, state, and country will going to the polls today to cast ballots for various races. Several of these voters will be right here in Hutchinson County.
On Election Day, set for Nov. 6, polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The polling places are as follows:
*Precinct 11 - Faith Covenant Church, 1501 South Florida, Borger
*Precinct 14 - Fairlanes Baptist Church, 3000 Fairlanes Boulevard, Borger
*Precinct 21 - Fritch School Administration Building, 540 Eagle Boulevard, Fritch

The Borger City Council will hold a meeting and work session on Tuesday.
The first part of the work session will begin at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Borger Fire Station at 200 North Cedar. Council members will tour and discuss proposed renovations to the Borger Central Fire Station. The council will then recess the work session until after the regularly scheduled meeting.
The council’s regular meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers of Borger City Hall, 600 North Main.

A groundbreaking for the new location of Happy State Bank was held Thursday afternoon.
Mike Amos, president of the Borger market, and J. Pat Hickman, Chairman and CEO of Happy State Bank, made the announcement of the new location, which will be at 1431 West Wilson.
Wiley Hicks Jr. Construction Inc. is the general contractor for the new building. The architecture was designed by D. Scott Stark Architect and is consistent with other Happy State Bank offices.

A longtime Boy Scout from Stinnett has received the rank of Eagle Scout.
Jerrod Johnston, son of Jim and Judy Johnston, received this honor during the Eagle Scout Court of Honor last Saturday. He is the first scout from Troop 592 of Stinnett to earn the Eagle Scout rank since the troop was restarted in 2001 by Scout Master Billy Murphy. According to the records at the Boy Scouts of America Golden Spread Council, the last Eagle Scout from Troop 592 was Robert Pinkerton in April of 1997.
