Borger PD searching for vehicle theft suspect

A Borger man suspected of vehicle theft is being sought out by the Borger Police Department.
Lt. Anthony Griffin of the BPD said the department is actively searching for an individual in connection with several stolen vehicles in the Texas Panhandle.
The department is looking for James Dean Lee, 31, of Borger.
Lee also currently has an active Pardon and Parole Warrant for an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.

BFD responds to fire call on First Street

January 13, 2012

The Borger Fire Department was on scene of a fire Thursday morning.
BFD responded to a call made from the owner of a home located in the 300 block of East First St.
The call came in at 8:06 a.m.
When firefighters went to the scene they had the fire distinguished within 20 minutes.
Fire Marshal Jerry Langwell stated the cause of the fire is still undetermined.
Langwell also stated the fire caused around $7,000 worth of damage to the structure. There were no injuries.

Vanderpool to speak at Rotary Club next Tuesday

The Rotary Club will be welcoming writer and photographer Rick Vanderpool as its special guest speaker next Tuesday at noon.
Vanderpool has marketed and sold his creative works for close to 40 years. He is a 1975 graduate of the University of Georgia’s Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications. He worked for a year as a staff photographer for Callaway Gardens and then opened an art studio in Athens, Ga, where he worked mostly with corporate interior designers, designing and producing custom wall art programs.
