It’s now official. CVS is coming to Borger sooner than we think.
On Tuesday, August 23, 2011, the building that housed the once existing Subway and Borger’s longtime bowling alley was torn down to make room for CVS on the corner of third and Cedar Street.
Jamie Wallace, the District Manager for CVS, stated they are planning to be finished by the end of January of next year.
Everyone is curious to see the new monument representing the tragic events occurring on 9/11.
Bob Tiffany of the 9/11 Memorial Committee confirmed this week that Borger will not see the monument for another few months.
According to Tiffany, they are still in the process of getting drawings for the monument.
“Once we get the drawings ready, we still need to send out bids. It won’t be ready for at least two or three months after the drawings are drawn up,” he said.
Having insurance is a necessary part of life, according to one of Borger’s insurance agents.
Jud Price, agent for Upshaw and Brown Insurance, spoke at the Borger Rotary Club Tuesday about keeping the important things in life insured.
He said one of the benefits of working for Upshaw and Brown is being able to work with various companies.
Companies are changing on a daily basis with their underwriting and guidelines. He said if one company changes, he can check with others to find the best deal for his customers.
