The Stinnett Police Department is currently investigating a case of identity theft.
Stinnett Chief of Police Marie Farbro stated that she and other officers have collected a video from the Borger Dollar General of a suspect forging his signature for purchased items that were initially bought on May 27, 2011.
He has also committed the same crime in McDonald’s and Stinnett Allsups, for a combined total of $191.86.
Farbro said that the victim randomly checks his account on the internet, and he realized someone was using his ATM/debit card.
Local veterans are encouraged to come out to the Borger Summer Celebration next Thursday to visit the Mobile Vet Center, which will be making a visit to the event.
The vet center will be on site at Huber Park from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011, during the celebration festivities.
The center is open to all veterans, their families, and the general public. The center’s visit is being sponsored by the Amarillo Vet Center, located on Olsen Boulevard in Amarillo.
With summer in full swing, there are teens throughout Hutchinson County taking driver’s education classes. West Texas High School students Chay Sargent and Bailey Kerr get ready to get behind the wheel with teacher Danny Anderson.
