Lucas Miller brings his blend of science-oriented songs and stories to Hutchinson County Library on July 28. He is recognized as an American Masterpiece by the National Endowment for the Arts. Miller is a â€śsinging zoologistâ€ť that performs at multi-media events for almost one hundred thousand children annually at schools, libraries and family concerts. Miller has been a independent artist and educator since 1994. Based in Austin, Texas, he has performed at the Texas state capitol, the National Zoo, the Austin City Limits Music Festival, Moody Gardens and hundreds of elementary schools.
In order to help families within the community that might not have the financial resources to purchase all the needed school supplies, the local Edward Jones Branch offices are taking part in a School Supplies Donation Drive from August 1st to August 31st.
Gary Schneck, Scott Mills, Beverly Creacy and Brock Sherwood, Edward Jones financial advisors in Borger, are supporting the 2011-12 supply drive by using their offices as drop-off locations.
The branch offices are located at 905 N. Cedar, 421 N. Deahl and 811 S. Cedar.
