Officials are investigating a vehicle explosion that occurred early Thursday morning.
On Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 3:30 am. in the 1400 block of Davis, a vehicle explosion left a Stinnett resident with second degree burns. Stinnett Chief of Police Marie Farbro stated that arson is suspected. Truck owner Jeff Irvin tried to put the fire out with a water hose. The pickup truck then exploded and knocked the man down.
The recent signage of an agreement between the Canadian River Municipal Water Authority and Mesa Water will have a positive effect on the Borger area.
The signing of the water rights between the two entities took place on June 23 at the Plainview Country Club/Civic Center in Plainview.
Pickens and Mesa Water, Inc. sold the water rights beneath 211,000 acres for $103 million to CRMWA. The purchase gives CRMWA water rights for over 400,000 acres in the Texas Panhandle, almost all of which is located in Roberts County.
The Hutchinson County Farmer’s Market is set to begin tomorrow morning!
The market will be set up every Friday through the remainder of the summer from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. or sooner if farmers sell out.
The market will be located in the 500 block of Weatherly (one block east of Main Street).
The market is open to all community buyers and sellers. Stands will consist of a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs, homemade jams, breads, and assorted fruit juices.
As soon as Elvira Carrales came onto the gymnasium floor at Amarillo High School on Wednesday evening, it was evident that the 10-year-old was ready to live in the moment and get the crowd of around 1,000 people up on their feet.
