Five arrests made by department over two-day period
The Borger Police Department continues an aggressive campaign against narcotic related offenses.
During a two-day period, officers of the BPD made five arrests for narcotic-related offenses, according to Lt. Anthony Griffin of the PD.
The American Red Cross of Borger will once again have another Murder Mystery Dinner as a fund raiser.
The theme of the dinner is “East Side Story: A 1950’s Murder Mystery,” which will be held at Dake’s on 718 N Main St. on April 9 at 6 p.m.
A longtime former Borger resident recently celebrated a special milestone in her life.
Blanche Miller celebrated her 100th birthday with a reception in the Park Place Towers Parlor in Amarillo on March 19, 2011. Her family was in attendance, and several longtime friends from Borger also attended. Miller is a current resident of the Park Place Towers.
Miller was born on March 22, 1911, in Braymer, Mo., to Florence and Walter Jenks. Her mother worked as a dress maker, and her father worked for a salt plant and also an ice plant. She has one younger sister Mildred.
