Before passing an amended animal control ordinance, the City of Borger wants the input of the public.
The Borger City Council will be acting to schedule a public hearing on Nov. 1, 2011, at 7 p.m. to allow public comment on the proposed ordinance.
Those wanting to read the ordinance in its entirety can find it on the City of Borger web site at www.ci.borger.tx.us.
The West Texas High Marching Band is moving on to area competition! The band received a Division One rating at the UIL Region One Marching Band Contest that took place Saturday at Dick Bivens Stadium in Amarillo. The band will be advancing to the UIL Area Marching Band Contest, scheduled for Oct. 29 at Dick Bivens Stadium.

Borger ISD is encouraging the schools to be drug free.
The week of Oct. 24 â 28, 2011 Borger Schools will have their annual Red Ribbon Week of activities. The theme of the week is âItâs up to me to be drug-free.â
Borger ISD uses Red Ribbon Week to educate the schools and the community about how important it is to be drug-free.
All through the week students are asked to take part in activities. Monday is âIâm a âJean-iusâ-I am Drug- Free Day.â Everyone is asked to wear jeans. Tuesday is the day to join the war against drugs, and students are asked to wear camouflage.
On Wednesday, October 19th, Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen fans are encouraged to wear pink to support âDig for a Cureâ during the volleyball teamâs WJCAC conference match against NMMI at 7:00 p.m. at the BCAC.
All donations and proceeds from the match will go to the âSusan G. Komen Fight against Breast Cancer.â
During the game a drawing will be held for an iPAD 2 being donated Verizon Wireless. Raffle tickets are $3 each or four for $10 and you must be present in order to win.
