This weekend, members of the Borger Bulldog football team traveled south to take part in a 16 team 7-on-7 football tournament in Snyder.
In pool play, the Borger squad went 2-1, just missing out of reaching the tournament semi-finals. In the wins, Borger defeated San Angelo Grape Creek 26-6 and beat Roscoe 26-0 before losing to Lamesa 27-20
The Borger team plays in the Caprock 7 on 7 tournament later in June, and the 9th grade 7 on 7 will play in a tournament in Amarillo on June 17th.
The Borger Walmart will be hosting several events to raise money for the Childrenâ€™s Miracle Network.
The first one will be on June 5, 2011. The store will be holding a Coed Bowling Tournament at Wildcatters, located on 1501 Main St. The tournament will start at 3 p.m.

In February 2011, the Jerry C. Waggoner Medical Foundation Board of Directors hosted the First Annual 2011 Ungala as a means of raising funds for the Foundationâ€™s projects: the Free Emergency Dental Clinic and the Educational Scholarship Program.
The generosity of many donors brought in over $4,000.00 to the Waggoner Foundation. Some of the donors opted to purchase â€śrocksâ€ť and â€śleavesâ€ť to be placed on the Waggoner Foundation Tree of Life in the Golden Plains Community Hospital lobby in memory or in honor of loved ones or organizations.
The list of graduates for the Class of 2011 at Borger High School has been officially approved by the Borger ISD board of trustees.
The action took place at the boardâ€™s regular meeting last Tuesday. Graduates on the list for the Class of 2011 are as follows:

PLAINVIEW-On Saturday afternoon, a comeback just was not in the cards for the Borger Bulldogs in their 3A Regional Quarterfinal series with the Lubbock Cooper Pirates.
The Pirate hitters did a good job flexing their muscles by sending five balls over the fence to take game two and get the series sweep by a score of 11-0 at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview.

Rosalyn Fryatt, of Borger, passed away, Friday, May 20, 2011, after a short battle with cancer.
Rosalyn J. (Marshall) Fryatt was born Monday, March 27, 1939 in Faxon, OK to Henry and Eunice (Carter) Marshall. She married Bob Fryatt on June 20, 1958 in Borger, TX. She was a homemaker. Rosalyn was also a supporter of the Lionâ€™s Club and Compassionate Friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Brent Lee Fryatt.
Donald Gene Smith, 73, of Spring, Texas, passed away May 19, 2011. He was born August 2, 1937 in Borger, Texas to the late Ray and Ruby Smith. Don is also preceded in death by his sister Cora Lee Loudon and Jillâ€™s mother Sandra De Ann Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Lillian Smith; daughter Jill Belinda; step-daughter Kelly Quick and husband David; grandchildren Nathan Ray Smith-Lorrain and Katherine Coerver; brother Ralph Wayne Smith; nephew Cameron Powell Smith; and nieces Jan and Sharon.
Crime Stoppers and the Borger Police Department are seeking the help of the public in regards to information on a recent burglary.
The incident in question is a burglary of a habitation that occurred on May 6, 2011.
Between 5 and 8 p.m. on this particular day, a person or persons forced entry into a residence in the 500 block of Wilson Street.
West Texas High School has named its top graduates for the Class of 2011.
Kami Roden is this yearâ€™s valedictorian with a GPA of 102.467 and Erin Frost is this yearâ€™s salutatorian with a GPA of 99.674.
While at WTHS, Roden was active in various extracurricular activities, which included playing flute in the band, Color Guard, Dinner Theatre, J.V. Cheerleading, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, serving on Student Council and as a class officer, T.A.F.E., U.I.L. Band Solo/Ensemble, U.I.L. Calculator, U.I.L. Computer Science, U.I.L. Mathematics, and U.I.L. Number Sense.
