The Hutchinson County and Hansford County Crime Stoppers are aiming to crack down on meth labs, and are seeking the help of the public in making that happen.
Effective immediately, Crime Stoppers is offering a $500 reward to any person that calls its hotline at 274-6371 with relevant information in regards to a methamphetamine lab and the information leads to the discovery and seizure of such a lab.
Information on the City of Borgerâ€™s water quality will be presented at the upcoming meeting of the Borger City Council.
The meeting is set to be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, in the city council chambers of Borger City Hall.
The council will hear a report on the cityâ€™s water quality from Winston Sauls, who manages operations at the city water plant. Sauls holds a TCEQ Class A Water License, and is a Certified NELAC/EPA/TCEQ Water Lab Director.
Sauls will also present recommendations on how the citizens of Borger can help with water conservation.
The Hutchinson County and Hansford County Crime Stoppers and the Borger Police Department are seeking assistance in solving three burglaries that have occurred in the city limits of Borger.
Lt. Anthony Griffin of the BPD said all three of these burglaries were committed at the same location, which was the apartment complex located at 605 West Wilson Street.
During the burglaries, the suspect or suspects involved took three air conditioner window units out of three different apartments.

Coffee Memorial Blood Center is set to host three blood drives in the Borger area next week.
The first drive is set to take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the Chevron Phillips (Philtex Ryton) Borger plant. A bloodmobile will be located near the South Office Complex.
The second drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Interim Home Health Care, located at 1313 West Wilson in Borger.
Over the past couple of years, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen have been a basketball team that could shoot the ball as good as anyone they matched up with in the WJCAC.
The biggest problem the team has struggled with is having a lack of size around the basket to develop a good combination of an inside/outside game, as well as grabbing rebounds on both ends of the court.
Two local departments are coming together to help stop the continual spread of graffiti within the City of Borger.
The Borger Police Department and Hutchinson County Juvenile Probation Department have recently teamed up to combat this problem.
Gang-related graffiti has become an increasing problem in the city, and the two departments have come with a creative way to stop it, according to Lt. Anthony Griffin of the BPD.
â€śJuveniles who are currently on probation and ordered to perform community service for crimes of graffiti, are now assisting in cleaning up the graffiti,â€ť he said.
The Hutchinson County Airport is preparing to have some special visitors.
Pilots in The 35th annual Air Race Classic will make a pit stop in Borger next week. Dennis Oâ€™Bryant, Airport Manager, said they are expected to come in on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. The race is from June 21-24.
Hutchinson County Commissioners have thrown their backing behind the recent disaster declaration banning the sale and use of fireworks across the area.
On Thursday morning in the Hutchinson County Courthouse, the commissioners approved the declaration for the ban of fireworks lasting through July 5, 2011.
Hutchinson County Fire Marshal Danny Richards stated that it makes no difference whether it is inside or outside the county, people will still be prosecuted. Police will be ordered to write tickets to those who do not obey the restrictions.
After a great season at the plate and out of centerfield, recent Borger graduate Garrett Irwin was named to the THSBCA 3A Third team All-State team.
Irwin played a key role in helping the Borger Bulldogs claim the District 1-3A title and reach the 3A Region I Quarterfinals.
This weekend Irwin will play for the 1A-3A North squad in the THSBCA All Star Game that will be played at at Dell Diamond Park in Round Rock.
