The Hutchinson County Hospital District has passed a resolution in regards to the district retirement plan.
The resolution, passed by the board at its regular meeting last Monday evening, will terminate the 457b â€“ HCHD Employee Retirement Plan and give employees access to an alternate program.
Dennis Jack, CEO of Golden Plains Community Hospital, said that when the district ran and operated the hospital, they had a retirement program that was allowed only for government entities.
Funeral services for Sondra â€śSandyâ€ť Arnold, 71, of Montalba, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Clay Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster Palestine.
Mrs. Arnold passed away Friday, Dec. 16, at her residence. She was born April 17, 1940, in Henrietta, TX, to J.T. Murphy and Dorothy â€śDotâ€ť Carr Murphy. She worked for TDCJ as a switch operator and was also a hairdresser.
Lillian Rosella Powell, 91, of Borger, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011 in Borger, TX.
The Borger City Council will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, in the city council chambers of Borger City Hall, 600 North Main.
Action will be taken on the final reading of Ordinance O-005-11, amending the City of Borger Code of Ordinance, Article 4.02, Alcoholic Beverages.
The council will also conduct a public hearing on a request from Jeff Whittington to rezone a 1.5 acre tract of land located in the SE/4 of Section 18, Block â€śYâ€ť M&C Survey, from Single Family (IF-2) zoning district to General Residence (GR) zoning district, to be known as 100 Denton.
The Boomtown Theater is looking for more actors preferably over the age of 16. Rehearsals are flexible and no experience is needed.
This coming production will be a debut and duet.
Both directors will hold auditions on January 2, 2012.

The Borger ISD board approved a policy update during its regular meeting Thursday evening.
One of the policies, known as FO (Local), pertains to student discipline. Corporal punishment will not be used when a parent has submitted a signed statement to the principal prohibiting the use of corporal punishment. The parent can reinstate corporal punishment by submitting another signed statement at any time.
The Plemons-Stinnett-Phillips CISD board of trustees met Thursday night in Stinnett.
The board approved the independent financial audit for the fiscal year beginning Sept. 1, 2010, and ending August 31, 2011.
Action was also taken to establish an active and continuing records management program as required by the Texas State Library and Archives commission and designate Bill Wiggins, superintendent of Schools, as the Records Management Officer.
