Local residents are encouraged to paint Borger pink as a special national tour rolls into town tomorrow.
The National Pink Heals Tour is coming to Borger. Locals are encouraged to come see the pink emergency equipment, sign the truck, and welcome the tour members to town as they raise cancer awareness and provide support for cancer victims.
The event will take place from 7:45-9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, in the Hastings parking lot. Food, fun, t-shirts, and a balloon release are scheduled as part of the festivities.
On Friday night, the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen open the 2011-12 basketball season hosting Lubbock Christian JV at 7:00 p.m. at the BCAC.

Tomorrow night, the Borger Lady Bulldogs will take on the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes in the 3A Bi-District playoffs at Amarillo High starting at 7:00 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs find themselves in a similar situation as last year, by entering the playoffs as the districtâ€™s third seed, yet able to make a nice run that ended in the Regional Semi-Finals.
A shot was fired in the midst of a police car chase early Saturday morning in Stinnett just after midnight.
The suspect rammed one of the police patrol units heading north. A chase continued on foot in the same direction, when a fired was shot by an officer.
There were no injuries, but one officer went to the hospital on his own for safety precautions.
Payden Dompe, Kinsey Grieb, Vanessa Smith, and Kayla Castleberry are among the Borger High band students helping prepare for the Borger Band Boosters Annual Brisket Dinner, scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the American Legion Hall, 1000 Bulldog Lane. Tickets can be purchased from BHS Band Students or at the door for $5 each. To go orders are available.
Arraignment for the Fernandez family will be on Tuesday November 1, 2011 at 4 p.m. on 205 E 5th Ave., Amarillo.
After being picked to finish last in the WJCAC at the start of the season, the Frank Phillips College Lady Plainsmen proved the experts on wrong by qualifying for the West Region V Tournament without the use of any tiebreaker with a four game win over Clarendon College on Saturday afternoon 22-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-14.
The West Region V Tournament will take place on Saturday, featuring the Lady Plainsmen opening against Midland College, while NMMI will take on Western Texas College in the other semi-final.
Members of the Borger Chamber of Commerce and Golden Plains Community Hospital staff gathered Friday morning to hold a ribbon cutting for the new hospital facility.
